The lady on the hill brushed her curly red hair out of her eyes in a soft motion as she looked down at the fresh sping grass blowing in the wind. A sigh escaped her mouth and after a moment of silence her beautifully striking emerald green eyes flicked over to the man next to her.

"Me Amore, let's go." Her voice was so soft against the wind which carried it to the man's ears.

"But the forest is so green and bright, why not we stay a little longer?" The man smiled, placing his arm around her waist only to pull her closer to him. Her hand was placed on his chest as she stared deeply into his eyes.

"But the sunrise has already passed, must my father torture me any longer with his brilliant gaze?"

The man laughed. "Cirece, Helios is not a man to be avoided. If that was the case I would not have suggested we wake this early to see the sight."

"Well the sight is over. Must we stay out in the cold any more?"

The man sighed as he took her hands. "No, if you wish it we will go." The red haired woman smiled as the two stood to walk away from the hill towards the village below.

"I must admit, this is a very nice island your clan has here."

"I told you! Staying for more than a few hours for some chat with me is a must!" The man laughed, his dark brown hair silencing him as it blew into his face and got in his mouth, making him sputter. Circe let out a quick short laugh, covering her mouth with the sleeve of her robe as if it was a sin. Her laugh brought a smile to the man's lips as he watched her, as a laugh from Circe was a rare sight to behold.

"Really Thane, you mustn't do that."

"Madame, whatever do you mean?"

"You know what I mean Thane, don't play dumb."

"You must laugh more often, as they say, laughter is the best medicine!"

"I do not need medicine, and I do not need to be a fool. I am a goddess, and a goddess must uphold her responsibilities."

"As you say. But I think you should lighten up sometimes. You don't have to be a goddess 24/7." Circe only let out a small huff.

"A goddess such as I can be a target of many, and must not lower her guard for anyone, friend, foe, human or otherwise."

"Ouch, not even for me?"

"Nope." Though a smile tugged on Circe's lips. "Now come on, I'm hungry."

"As you wish, madame~!"

And with that the two lone figures walked down the hill towards the path below which lead to the village in which they talked about.

And then a scream. It had been nine months since the time the beautiful red-haired goddess sat on the hill with the young mortal, watching the sunrise. The town was silent except one house where a scream of pain came, and cats yowled and dogs howled. It sounded like the gates of hell had been pushed open. And from them came a child, a son. With dark red hair and two eyes of different colors, Circe held him in her arms, shaking, a small smile on her face.

"My little light in the shadow, may you have good fortunes..."
